Even if Your Parents Won’t Let Me See You, I’m Still Your Auntie

I love you so much. And it’s hard knowing I can’t see you and share that love with you.

When you get older you will understand that sadly family doesn’t always treat you the way they should. And sometimes, you have to cut them out of your life.

But I wish it didn’t mean I had to give up my time and relationship with you.

One day you will be able to decide if you want a relationship with me and I hope you choose yes.

I will always send you birthday cards, but deep down I know you probably won’t ever get them…. So I hope you’re not taught that I never wanted to be apart of your life or that I didn’t love you.

I love you more than you will ever know. And I cry often knowing you probably won’t ever get to see or feel my love for you.

An aunt is supposed to be the one you go to when you need help.

Or when you need someone to confide in and I want to be that aunt for you… And I’m heartbroken knowing I probably won’t be able to be that for you.

I’m so sorry that these problems your parents can’t deal with now affect our relationship.

I never wanted it to be this way…. But one day you will grow up and learn what it is like to make your own choices.

You will learn how important it is to make choices that make you happy, not anyone else, which is very important!

I had to make decisions so I could be happy, but I will always wish they didn’t affect us. Because you are so important to me and I will love you forever.

If I don’t ever get to be a part of your life I just want you to know – work hard and never compromise your morals, even for people you love.

Life will be hard, but there are people who will love you without making you need to change.

Sometimes, you just have to go out there and look a little harder than you thought.

I love you tons,

Auntie

  1. Your writing is so honest and comes from a place so close to your heart,
that the reader is left with no choice but to connect with what you
feel. That’s one of the greatest skill a writer can have- evoking emotions.
I have liked your work ever since I first read it, before you even started this
site as we both know, and it’s great to see your work here now.
In the end, I wish you the Best of Luck for your future endeavors! 🙂
